Pablo Pt. 5: Headaches and Heartbreaks

1 Corinthians 13:1-8 (NASB)
We must overcome hate and bitterness to be truly free. Holding on to hatred makes us exhausted and sick.
Antoine Leiris
On Friday night, you stole the life of an exceptional being, the love of my life, the mother of my son, but you will not have my hate. I will not give you the satisfaction of hating you. This is what you want, but to respond to your hate with anger would be to yield to the same ignorance that made you what you are. My son is only seventeen months old. Today he will have his snack as he does everyday, then we will play as we do everyday, and all his life this little boy will defy you by being HAPPY and FREE. Because you will not have his hate either.
Love appears to be the spiritual force that powers every other spiritual thing. With out love no other spiritual practice has power.
Luke 23:33-34 (KJV)
He was abandoned, mocked, beaten and in the process of being murdered and He forgave them.
He prayed for them.
When you pray for an enemy, it moves you from being hurt by them to being hurt for them.

Pablo Pt. 4: Paul: Pause on Purpose

1 Corinthians 3:16-17 (KJV)
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (MSG)
Acts 18:1 (KJV)
Acts 18: 7-8 (KJV)
The church at Corinth had received the gospel but the gospel had not produced a notable change in them.
1 Corinthians 1:10-16 (MSG)
1 Corinthians 3: 1-3 (KJV)
1 Corinthians 5: 1-2 (MSG)
1 Corinthians 2:5 (KJV)
1 Corinthians 2:3-5 (KJV)
A pause of pain made them stop, reflect and change.
What if we could build that pause into our lives BEFORE we made the mistake and experienced the pain?
What would you do if you understood God was in you?
Pause: reflect and learn
Pause: rejoice and give thanks
Pause: recalibrate, judge yourself and make adjustments
Once a week ask: What changes in my life is God my Father asking me to make?
3 to 5 times a day: Pause and remind yourself, I am the temple of God. God lives in me.
Change recalibrate to examine and let’s take off yourself too
Pause: Examine, judge and make adjustments

Pablo Pt. 3: Paul Confronts Racism

Your love for God is shown by your love for your fellow man.
1 John 4:20-21 (MSG)
A big part of Paul’s ministry was the destruction of racial tension.
Galatians 2:11-14 (KJV)
Acts 10:13-16 (KJV)
Acts 11:1-3 (KJV)
If you want to be with us, you have to be like us. If you’re not like us, you can’t be with us.
Paul didn’t wait for the offended race to speak up and defend itself. Instead, he corrected his own race by calling a wrong a wrong.
How powerful would it have been if someone who was Egyptian would have spoken up and said, “No, we aren’t coming, he’s next.”
Paul chose kindred spirits and not just kindred flesh to do life with.

Pablo Pt. 1: By God Through a Friend

Acts 9:8-20 (KJV)
Jesus left Paul blind. Why? He wanted him to see that you need Jesus in your life, but you also need people who love Jesus in your life in order to fulfill the plan in your life in order to fulfill the plan God has for your life.
A friend
Could it be that the vast majority of the healing that takes place in your life comes BY God THROUGH a friend?
The thing that makes friendships great is the same thing that makes them dangerous. You drop your guard. Acceptance leads to influence.
Warning Signs:
When you say “I’ll listen to that, I’ll go to that, I’ll watch that, but I’m not going to participate in that.”
When you hope that people you respect the most don’t find out where you’ve been, what they’ve said or who you’ve been with.
When you catch yourself lowering your standards to gain approval by them.
When something that was off limits before, suddenly become an option.
When you see they are not moving in the same direction as you and they don’t desire to.
They love Jesus
You can talk about Jesus with them.

Invite Weekend: From Saul to Paul

Acts 26:9-18 (MSG)
How can you achieve more success?
Who are you?
Who would other people say that I am?
Mathew 16:13-14 (KJV)
How would you define you?
Religious
Wise
Passionate
Right
Terrorist
Acts 26:15-16 (MSG)
When people act a certain way or have a life event happen to them, we often change their definition. We attach labels to lives.
Lie=Lair
Mean=Mean Person
Addiction=Addict
Steal=Theif
Abused=Victim
Loved one die=Orphan or Widow
I did it to Paul. He cause terror so I labeled him a terrorist. His action changed his definition.
God doesn’t see things this way. Our actions in His eyes don’t change our definition. In essence He says, “That may be what you did, but that’s not who you are.”
Paul ask: Who are you Lord?
Jesus: I am the one you are persecuting, now up on your feet, let Me tell you about this amazing plan I have for your life.
Who are you?
I am loved by a God who has an amazing plan for my life.
1 Timothy 15-19 (MSG)
